Forward Cassidy Maplethorpe scored the game-winning goal 15 seconds into overtime to lift the Brock women's hockey team to a 2-1 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks in exhibition play at Seymour-Hannah Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Laurier opened the scoring in the first period and forward Maggie Spratt-Mallick replied for Brock to make it 1-1.

"We had our best second period of our exhibition play, but played tired in the third," said head coach Margot Page. "One thing our players don't do is quit. They kept pushing to tie it up and then get the overtime win."

The Badgers open the regular season against Laurier at home on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2:15 p.m.
