Women's hockey goaltender Jensen Murphy and men's lacrosse midfielder Kurtis Woodland are the Brock University Muscle MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 28.
Murphy, a senior medical sciences student from Kingston, Ont, made 46 saves to backstop the Brock women's hockey team to a 2-0 shutout victory over the UOIT Ridgebacks in Toronto on Oct. 26. Murphy also made 35 saves during a 3-0 loss to Queen's on Oct. 27. Murphy currently sports a 1.35 goals against average and .967 save percentage through the first three games of the season.
Woodland, a third-year Kinesiology student from Fergus, Ont, scored four goals during Brock's final regular season game, a 14-7 win versus Guelph, on Oct. 27. Woodland also netted a goal during Brock's 11-5 win at McMaster on Oct. 24. Woodland has scored three-or-more goals in eight of the Badgers' 10 games this season. He leads the team in scoring with 31 goals and seven assists in 10 games.
