The Brock women's rugby team (4-0) is gearing up for their quarter-final playoff game against the York Lions (1-3) in Toronto on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
Last year, the Badgers carried a 4-0 record into their opening playoff game against York, but lost 34-24.
As OUA.tv continues to film more rugby matches, head coach Stefanie Pavlovich and the staff have been fortunate to review opponents' tactical and technical strengths, and gaps.
"We are also pretty familiar with most team's game play, as we have had the opportunity to play them in either 15s or 7s this past year," added Pavlovich.
Badgers fullback Taylour Hurd led the OUA in scoring with 10 tries and 60 points.
Meagan Hart scored eight tries and 46 points.
The Lions will also attempt to contain Katelyn Heyens (35 points) and Breanna Jeremiah (30 points).
York finished the season 1-3. Their highest-scoring player was Natasha Naismith with a try and 13 points.
On Tuesday, the Badgers climbed the weekly U SPORTS rankings from ninth place to No. 7. However, Pavlovich and the Badgers have maintained a level head entering the post-season.
"Although we have to be aware of different challenges each team may present, our goal is still the same: Play in the moment and focus on things we can control within our own performance," said Pavlovich. "We do not have to rise to any occasion, but we must continue to improve our game. Playoffs are just another opportunity to demonstrate that they are capable of success. And, the added bonus is that our girl's are more determined than ever."
