The Brock Badgers outlasted the York Lions 20-13 to win the OUA women's rugby quarter-finals in Toronto on Friday.

"I'm so proud of them," said head coach Stefanie Pavlovich. "From three years ago not being able to have the confidence to do this...it just shows that if you believe in yourself you can do it. They deserve this moment."

Jenna Rainville, Niamh Haughey and Aleah Boersma each scored a try. Meagan Hart recorded a conversion and notched a penalty goal.

Brock led 17-5 at the half, and York came out determined in the second half.

"We had some moments of panic in the first half. We told the girls at halftime that we need to bring it, because York is not going to give up," said Pavlovich. "We made some adjustments offensively. We told the backs we needed to come up with hard line speed, and the forwards were told we need to continue to secure possession at every breakdown when going into contact."

Lauryn Legerton and Brittany Ediagbonya each scored a try for the Lions. York also pulled off penalty goal courtesy of Natasha Naismith.

The Badgers (5-0) advance to play the undefeated Guelph Gryphons (4-0) in Guelph on Saturday, Oct. 13 at noon.
