The Brock Badgers women's hockey team tamed the York Lions 6-3 in Toronto on Sunday.
After a scoreless first period the Badgers built a 3-1 lead in the second on a pair of power-play goals from Morgan Dezell and Hunter Accursi. Kimberly Brown scored with less than five minutes remaining in the frame.
"No flow at all in the game as there were a lot of penalties called for both teams," said head coach Margot Page. "Not a fun game to play, but we got the lead and persisted to get the win."
York took six consecutive penalties between the first and second periods. The Badgers went 3-for-10 on the power play.
Katreena Whiteye, Carley Blomberg and Maggie Spratt-Mallick each added a goal in the third.
Goalie Jensen Murphy made 27 saves.
Makyla Porter and Amanda Ieradi each tallied two assists.
Up next, the Badgers (5-1-2) play their next game on the road at Western on Friday, Nov. 23.
