Box Score Goalie Jensen Murphy made 39 saves and the Brock women's hockey team shut down the Laurier Golden Hawks 1-0 in Waterloo on Friday.
The Badgers extend their win streak to three games and move into third place in the OUA with a record of 6-3-4-2.
"With three games and wins in a week combined with the craziness of classes starting. It's pretty impressive I think," said head coach Margot Page. "We had a lot of scoring chances then took a couple of penalties in the third and they pulled their goalie. We played quite well offensively and created a lot off our forecheck."
The game remained scoreless until Annie Berg scored the game-winning goal at 12:21 of the third period.
Maggie Spratt-Mallick and Amanda Ieradi each notched an assist.
When her team scored, Murphy skated over to the bench, however she crossed the blue line so the team was faced with either taking a two-minute penalty or to start goalie Emma Balazsi, who played for 45 seconds.
"It was a no brainer, because Emma is a great goalie and did what she needed to do with two solid saves," said Page.
Laurier outshot Brock 41-33.
Up next, the Badgers have some time off until Jan. 19 when they play the Waterloo Warriors on the road at 2 p.m.
