Box Score The Brock women's hockey team had their three-game win streak snapped with a 4-1 loss to the Waterloo Warriors on the road Saturday.
The Warriors capitalized on a power play to open the scoring in the first period.
"We played hesitant in the first and then had a really strong second," said head coach Margot Page. "We got engaged in battles and made solid puck decisions."
Cassidy Maplethorpe tied the game up on a feed from Annie Berg in the second, however the Warriors broke the game open when they scored another power-play goal at 11:02 of the third.
An even strength goal and empty netter sealed the deal for Waterloo.
"We came out and played well in the first five minutes of the third and then the wheels came off a bit and we really never could get them back on," said Page. "We are hoping the flu bug is done with us now so we can have a healthy crew moving forward."
Goalie Jensen Murphy made 28 saves in the loss, while Brock fired 31 shots on Warriors goalie Amanda Smith.
Up next, the Badgers (6-4-4-2) visit the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, Jan. 25 before hosting the Ryerson Rams on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:15 p.m.
