The Brock women's basketball team lost 72-63 to the Windsor Lancers on the road on Saturday.
Melissa Tatti scored 25 points for the Badgers. She added four assists and three steals.
In the first of their two meetings, Brock answered Windsor's early run and caught the Lancers by surprise at the end of the first quarter with a Tatti three-pointer, closing the gap to 10-9 Windsor.
Brock continued to answer everything Windsor threw at them, keeping the lead within five points throughout the second quarter.
Heading into halftime, the Badgers held a 29-28 lead.
Kristin Gallant and Courtney McPherson grabbed most of the boards for Brock, and they kept pace with Windsor inside the paint with second-chance opportunities, and went into the final quarter ahead 52-49.
The execution and efficiency of the Badgers' offence slowed down in the fourth due to increased defence by the Lancers, and this caused hiccups in the Badgers' run.
Windsor regrouped during the break and took control of the lead by a score of 62-57.
Up next, the Badgers (7-9) return home to host the Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday, Jan. 25 (6 p.m.) and Saturday, Jan. 26 (6 p.m.).
