Box Score Goalie Jensen Murphy made 52 saves and stopped all three shooters to backstop the Brock women's hockey team to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Ryerson Rams at Seymour-Hannah Arena on Saturday.
"Ryerson is a tough team. I'm really happy with the way we matched their physical play in the second period," said head coach Margot Page. "Good to get the win tonight back home."
Niamh Haughey opened the scoring midway through the second. The Rams' Lauren Nicholson knotted the game up in the third on a power play.
In overtime, Ryerson outshot Brock 10-1.
Murphy shut down three consecutive shooters and Maggie Spratt-Mallick netted the only goal in the shootout as the Badgers skated away with a victory.
Up next, the Badgers (6-5-5-2) host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:15 p.m.
