The Brock men's soccer team punched their ticket to the playoffs on Friday.
Jared Agyemang scored two goals and the Badgers edged the No. 7 Guelph Gryphons by a score of 4-3 at Brock Alumni Field to clinch an OUA playoff berth.
"It's hard to predict anything with these guys," said head coach Lucio Ianiero. "We can compete, but to be up 4-1 on a historically good team was a great job by the boys."
Guelph worked their way back late in the game with a pair of goals in the 86th and 89th minutes.
Agyemang leads the province in scoring with 12 goals and is tied for first among U SPORTS individual goal leaders.
The Badgers led 2-1 at halftime on goals from Michael Fernandez and Victor Kariuki, who netted a beautiful header for his first career OUA goal.
In the second half, Agyemang scored back-to-back goals, including the ultimate game winner, with ferocious drives to the net.
"They were both good balls played in by Mattew Wnukowski and the other by Victor Kariuki," said Agyemang. "It was a bit of a fight, but I knew once I got that final touch it's just gotta go for net."
Guelph outshot Brock 6-4.
Up next, the Badgers (5-3-3) host the Laurier Golden Hawks (1-7-3) on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3:15 p.m.
