Kristin Gallant scored 18 points and the Brock women's basketball team celebrated their senior's night with a 66-37 victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday.
The Badgers celebrated the careers of Allie Columbus and Courtney Mcpherson with a presentation before the game.
Finding their shot early, Brock quickly expanded their lead against the Mustangs and got their rhythm going. Brock led 20-12 after the first quarter.
Fluidity and efficiency carried the Badgers through the second quarter. Important stops on defence and continuous scoring held Brock out in front as they entered the third quarter leading 36-18.
Holding Western to just six points in the second quarter, Brock's defence didn't let up in the third. Western played at a pace that almost seemed too quick for their offense and Brock capitalized, forcing several turnovers and adding transition baskets on the other end.
Going into the final 10 minutes, Brock pushed farther ahead of Western and the score was 53-26.
Western was on their heels most of the game against the Badgers.
They were unable to find effective stops against Brock's shooting and the play of their rotation players meant there was no break for the Mustangs.
Growing a significant lead in the first three quarters meant the Badgers didn't have much of a problem holding on and eventually took the victory.
Brock is now back at .500 with a 11-11 record.
With just two games left in the regular season, Brock travels to Lakehead the weekend of Feb. 15 for a back-to-back series against the Thunderwolves to end the season.
