Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Stephen Leithwood

Women's volleyball team playoff bound

The Brock women's volleyball team are heading to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

The Badgers clinched a playoff berth with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-14) win over the Nipissing Lakers at Bob Davis Gym on Sunday. The win was also their seventh consecutive victory.

"This is a great group of young ladies and from Day 1 they bought into everything I asked them to," said first-year head coach Steve Delaney. "They work hard, and we learn together and we continue to do what we have to do to try and build a winning culture. All of the hard work and dedication is starting to payoff."

Darby Taylor of Thorold generated 11 kills and a .476 kill percentage. She added a service ace, two digs and three blocks.

Jamie Holland scored six kills and registered a .857 kill percentage with four service aces and two blocks to earn Player of the Game honours.

Laura Condotta secured six kills, five service aces and 14 digs. Emily Armstrong contributed 29 assists, a service ace and a block.

Mikaylla Law-Heese and Grace Pyatt each tallied three kills. Law-Heese added nine digs and Pyatt registered two service aces and two blocks.

Up next, the second-place Badgers (12-5) hit the road to play the Waterloo Warriors (15-1) on Friday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.
