The Brock Badgers wrapped up the women's volleyball regular season with a victory on Friday.
Brock defeated the McMaster Marauders 3-1 (26-24, 17-25, 25-19, 25-21) on Senior Night at Bob Davis Gymnasium.
The Badgers honoured the careers of Darby Taylor (Thorold, Ont), Jenn Todd (Stoney Creek, Ont), Hannah Davenhill (Auckland, NZ), Julia Balatbat (Scarborough, Ont) and Tori Carroll (Walkerton, Ont).
Despite injuries, the Badgers picked up their 13th victory and now prepare for the playoffs.
"Tonight was a great victory, especially since we were missing a couple of key pieces in Grace Edwards and Darby Taylor," said head coach Steve Delaney. "Tori Carroll had to play Right Side for the first time in her career and she did an awesome job."
Carroll posted 10 kills and nine digs while Grace Pyatt was named Player of the Match. She committed only two errors while scoring 12 kills for a .588 kill percentage.
Laura Condotta also recorded only two errors while registering 11 kills, and adding three blocks.
Jenn Todd also added 11 kills and Emily Armstrong secured 13 digs and 43 assists. Mikaylla Law-Heese secured nine digs and Jamie Holland added four blocks.
The Badgers led 11-4 in the second set, but the Marauders worked their way back to win 25-17.
"We had a minor mental blip in the second set," said Delaney. "We bounced back and showed resilience in the third and fourth. Great way to end the season, but there's a lot of work in front of us and the best is yet to come."
The Badgers finish the regular season with a record of 13-6 and will begin the OUA playoffs on the road against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
