Carlos Williams and Jared Agyemang each scored late in the second half to lift the Brock men's soccer team to a 2-1 comeback victory over the Windsor Lancers at Brock Alumni Field on Sunday.
It's the Badgers' first win of the season after battling to a 2-2 draw in Waterloo on Saturday.
The Brock strikers scored 16 minutes apart as Williams delivered a dagger during the 71st minute to tie the game up, and Agyemang capitalized on a penalty kick to seal the deal.
Williams, who is suiting up for Brock for the first time this season, scored less than 10 minutes after stepping onto the field in the second when head coach Lucio Ianiero called his number.
"Carlos scored a banger of a goal to open it up for us," said Ianiero. "We took our chances with the veteran. It was a great time to get some fresh legs out there, because the guys had some heavy legs after a tough one yesterday where we gave up points late into the game."
Goalkeeper Alex May made 10 saves to backstop the Badgers to their first win of the season.
"We keep giving the other teams opportunities to score, but thank goodness for Alex and we only limited them to one goal," said Ianiero. "They earned some goals based on the chances we gave them."
Up next, the Badgers (1-0-1) visit the Guelph Gryphons (1-0-1) on Friday, Sept. 6.
