Brock women's lacrosse ends regular season on high note

The Brock women's lacrosse team ended the regular season on a high note with a 13-12 win over the host Guelph Gryphons on Sunday, Oct. 17.

"The ladies finished the season strong. We came out hard and kept a high intensity. We truly came together and fought hard to take a big win against Guelph," said senior midfielder Jaycelyn Hopkins.

Now, the Badgers look forward to competing at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women's Lacrosse Championships at Civic Recreation Complex in Oshawa from Oct. 30-31.

"We're fired up heading into the OUA Championships. We have a talented group of ladies with great chemistry, which helps us dominate on the field," added Hopkins. "We like to be loud on the field and the bench to hype each other up. We've been working hard and ready to give it our all."

Against Guelph, Ryanne Logan and Mia Friesen each scored five goals, as Brock scored nine of their 13 goals in the first half.

Earlier in the day, the Badgers lost 13-6 to Western. Friesen fired in three goals while Kennedy Smith potted two goals. In addition, Jessica Ciolfi chipped in a marker.
