No. 5 Badgers remain undefeated

Godsman Kwakwah recorded a double-double as the No. 5 Brock men's basketball team tamed the Lakehead Thunderwolves 79-64 in Thunder Bay on Saturday, Nov. 13.

Kwakwah registered 13 points and 14 rebounds to help the Badgers remain undefeated and sit alone atop the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) 's West Division with a 4-0 record.

"I thought this was our most impressive game of the year. It wasn't easy, and our guys fought through it," said head coach Willy Manigat. "That's what we want to see, consistent effort. Lakehead is one of the hardest places to get a win on the road, and we were able to get two against a very tough opponent."

Daniel Cayer poured in 19 points and hauled in eight rebounds.

Brock opened up with a 27-13 first-quarter lead. However, Lakehead replied with a 26-point quarter in the second as the Badgers trailed by a point (39-38) at halftime.

TJ Lall scored seven points in the third, and William Boyer-Richard added six to help restore the Badgers' lead. Lall finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Boyer-Richard contributed five boards.

Brock outrebounded Lakehead 29-19 in the second half while wrestling the lead away from the 'Wolves in the fourth.

Next, the Badgers (4-0) host the Windsor Lancers (2-2) on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Get your tickets here.
