Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Stephen Leithwood

No. 5 Brock men's basketball ends first half with 7-0 record

The No. 5 Brock men's basketball team is undefeated at the holiday break.

The Badgers hit the century mark for the second time this season with a 106-68 victory over the Guelph Gryphons on the road on Saturday, Nov. 27.

At the halfway point of the season, Brock is a perfect 7-0 and sits alone at the top of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) West Division.

Fifth-year guard TJ Lall led Brock with 21 points and six rebounds. Second-year guard Isaiah Bujdoso and fifth-year guard Emmanuel Owoo-toah each scored 14 and 13 points.

The Badgers received 46 points from their bench as they enjoyed double-digit minutes from Asare Otchere (five rebounds), Jordan Tchuente (12 points), Michael Okeke (seven points) and William Boyer-Richard (six points).

"This is one of the exciting parts of this team. Everybody on this team brings something. Seeing them play and getting out there is thrilling because they each bring their own skill set," Manigat said. "That's what a team is about. Anytime we call their number, they know what we expect."

Brock never relinquished the lead as they shot 52.6 per cent (40-of-76) from field goal range. In the fourth quarter, the Badgers led by as many as 38 points. They finished the game with a season-high 13 steals. Daniel Caldwell and Godsman Kwakwah each added three steals.

The Badgers enter the holiday break and return to OUA play in Waterloo on Jan. 14, 2022.
