Blomberg was named to the Canadian Ball Hockey Association's women's roster on Friday, Dec. 3. The team will compete at the World Championships in Laval, Quebec, in June 2022.

A fourth-year Community Recreation student from Timmins, Blomberg was also named to the team in 2017.

"It's an honour to be selected for this team. They have a history of excellence, so it is a privilege to be chosen amongst such talented, high-calibre athletes," she said.

In August, Blomberg was one of six university women's hockey players selected from across the country to participate in Creating Coaches, a new program thanks to a partnership between U SPORTS and The Hockey Canada Foundation to increase the number of female coaches in Canada.

Blomberg played for the Ottawa Capitals ball hockey team in the summer, where she went on to compete for a national title in Calgary.

Canada's roster includes several players from that Capitals squad, including Blomberg's older sister, Alicia, who previously played for the Ottawa Gee-Gees and won gold for Canada at the ISBHF World Championships in 2013 and 2015.

"It will be amazing to play alongside Alicia with this team," Blomberg said. "She has always been a huge role model for me, so having the opportunity to play with her at such an elite event is a dream come true."
