WATERLOO - The Brock Badgers men's hockey team opened the 2022-23 OUA regular season with a 6-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Friday evening in Waterloo.
Brock were dominant from the opening face-off, scoring three first period goals in just over 12 minutes. Outshooting the Warriors 40-22 through the full 60 minutes, the Badgers saw six different players record a goal in the win and were also impressive with the man-advantage finishing the contest 2-for-6 on the power play.

Jared Marino opened the scoring in the Friday night win, converting on a cross-ice pass for a power play goal just under three minutes into the game. Next,
Matthew Barnes converted a give-and-go opportunity in tight, before
Cole Tymkin added the Badgers second power play goal on a timely rebound to conclude first period scoring.
Christian Girhiny added the lone second period goal, followed by third period markers from
Justin Brack and
Justin Kyle. Both Marino and
Jacob Roach led the Badgers in scoring with three points as Marino notched two assists to go along with his game-winning goal and Roach tallied three assists on the evening.
Mario Peccia earned the shutout victory for Brock making 22 total saves.
Next the Badgers host their home opener against the Western Mustangs on Saturday, Oct. 15 marking the first OUA regular season contest at the new Canada Games Park. Tickets for the Brock home opener are available on
