GUELPH - The Brock Badgers men's soccer team fell to the Guelph Gryphons 1-0 on Friday night in Guelph.
Possessing one of the best defensive units in the OUA, Brock has conceded just five goals through 10 regular season contests this season, and despite a 22nd minute goal from the home side they were able to hold the Gryphons in check for a large portion of the Friday evening road game. The Badgers back line was led by
Nolan Bosetti,
Luca Ragagnin, and
Victor Kariuki, along with keeper
Taylor Miskolczi who finished with three total saves.
However, where the Badgers have struggled has been on the opposite side of the pitch where they have only been able to score nine goals this fall placing them in 15th among all OUA teams in goals scored. Brock once again found it tough to generate offensive chances with only one shot on goal in the loss. As well the tough physical matchup saw both sides combine for eight yellow cards with five going the way of Badgers players.
After opening the 2022-23 season with a seven match undefeated streak, the Badgers have found themselves in a slide dropping their last three games with all three losses coming by just one goal.
Brock will look to end the slide this Sunday, Oct. 16 when they return to Alumni Field to challenge the same Guelph Gryphons. The game is scheduled to kick off at 3:15 p.m. with the action also being streamed on OUA.TV.
