THUNDER BAY - In the first of back-to-back games in Thunder Bay this weekend, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team defeated the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-2 on Friday night.
Third-year defenceman
Cole Thiessen delivered in the clutch for the Badgers scoring what would be the game-winner midway through the second period. Closing in from the blueline, the Brock veteran snapped a seeing-eye shot which made its way through a crowd in front of the Lakehead net.
The goal marked the second of the game for Thiessen who also scored the first for the Badgers early in the opening period, which combined with a beautiful wrist shot goal from
Tyler Rollo in the first saw Brock and Lakehead even 2-2 after 20 minutes.
Making his second consecutive start in net for Brock, goalie
Andy MacLean picked up the win with 24 total saves. The victory follows his first career OUA win just a week ago.
The Badgers will remain in Thunder Bay as they face off with the Thunderwolves tomorrow evening to complete the road doubleheader.. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the game available to stream on OUA.TV.
