ST CATHARINES - The Brock Badgers women's basketball team picked up an impressive 53-29 victory over the visiting Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday night at the Bob Davis Gym.
The Badgers defence shut down the Lakehead attack, holding the visiting team to single digit scoring in three of the four quarters. The highlight performance came following the first half as Brock held Lakehead to just five points on 16 percent shooting from the field in the third quarter, while forcing the Thunderwolves into 26 total turnovers.
Exploding for 11 points in the Badgers standout third quarter,
Noor Bazzi led all players with a game-high 13 points, while adding eight rebounds and a block. Meanwhile. Brock Badgers athlete of the week
Madalyn Weinert came up just one point and one rebound shy of a double-double finishing with nine points and nine rebounds to go along with four assists, a steal, and two blocks.
Theresa Brown would add seven points for Brock, while
Oluwatito Akinnusi poured in six.
There will be no rest for the Badgers as they are right back in action tomorrow evening at Bob Davis Gym versus Lakehead in the second game of a weekend doubleheader.
