GUELPH - Opening the 2022-23 campaign on the road, the Brock Badgers men;s volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night. Set scores for the match were 21-25, 14-25, 18-25.
Brock were competitive in the first set taking advantage of early Gryphons mistakes to keep the score close. However, as the match progressed so did the home side which pulled away in the second and third sets.
Sauli Lianga and
Devin Cooney led all Badgers with eight points apiece. For the veteran Lianga and rookie Cooney finished with an identical seven kills and one block. Brock second-year middle
Jacob Ferland added seven points from six kills and a service ace.

Grant Reddon registered 16 assists in guiding the Brock offence, while libero
Ethan Kalef recorded a game-high 11 digs defensively.
Brock will look for redemption versus the Gryphons tomorrow evening at the Bob Davis Gym. The Sunday home opener is scheduled for first serve at 3 p.m. with tickets available for purchase at
