ST. CATHARINES – Facing the Western Mustangs at Canada Games Park on Saturday evening, the Brock Badgers women's hockey team fell by a final score of 1-0.
In a defensive battle, both the Badgers and Mustangs had no answer for the other team through nearly the full sixty minutes. This included on the powerplay where Brock went 0-for-4 and Western finished 0-for-5 with a player advantage.
Brock did find their opportunities with great shots on net from the likes of
Madison Cronkwright and
Rebekah Feld, but the Mustangs goalie Kaitlyn Booth stood tall as she finished the night with 22 total saves.
Meanwhile, on the other end
Tiffany Hsu was spectacular once again in net for Brock following a shootout win for the netminder at Laurier the night before. Hsu was nearly perfect on the night with 24 saves made, but nearing the final five minutes of regulation Western's Sarah Irwin was able to notch the first and eventual game-winning goal of the game from the assist of Alyssa Wouda.
Brock will host two more games at Canada Games Park next week to conclude the fall semester portion of the OUA regular season. Action begins on Friday, Dec. 6 versus the visiting Nipissing Lakers. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m.  Tickets for the game can be purchased at
