No. 3 Badgers roll past Lancers 77-46 to begin OUA second half

Keltos nets double-digit points in two quarters

Samantha Keltos scored 17 points as the No. 3 Brock Badgers defeated the Windsor Lancers 77-46 in their return to Ontario University Athletics (OUA) action on Saturday, Feb. 12.

On the road in Windsor, Keltos looked at home battling in the paint while shooting seven-for-nine (.778) and connecting on a pair of three-pointers.

The senior forward scored all of her points in the first half as the Badgers picked up where they left off on Nov. 27, 2021.

"It feels good to be back. To have a basketball in my hands and competing with this group of women is a blessing," said Keltos, who led Brock with seven rebounds. "We played great team basketball today. Everyone was touching the ball, and it showed on the scoreboard."

The Badgers are first in the OUA West with a record of 8-0.

Brock was up 44-20 at the half, and by the fourth quarter, they led by as many as 43 points. The Badgers registered a season-high 46.9 (30-for-64) field goal percentage.

Senior forward Mackenzie Robinson dished out six assists while contributing eight points. In addition, she led all players with three steals.

First-year guard Madalyn Weinert posted 10 points for her sixth double-digit game.

Victoria Lawrence and Kaley DeMont combined for 16 points off the bench as Madison MacInnis added four rebounds in reserve. Audrey Ntetani Umba filled up the scoresheet with four rebounds, three assists and four points.

Up next, the Badgers (8-0) return to St. Catharines to host the third-place McMaster Marauders (6-2) on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. Livestream the game on OUA.tv.
