Brock men's hockey team advances to OUA quarter-final

The Brock men's hockey team opened the Queen's Cup playoffs with a victory on Wednesday, March 16.
 
The Badgers defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks 5-2 in Round 1 of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) playoffs.
 
The Badgers advance to the OUA quarter-finals where they will host the York Lions at Meridian Community Centre in Pelham on Saturday, March 19. Puck drop is 3 p.m.
 
Against Laurier, Badgers goaltender Mario Peccia made 30 saves in between the pipes. Captain Jared Marino scored two goals and defenceman Cole Thiessen notched a goal and two assists.
 
Kyle Robinson scored his first OUA goal and Christian Girhiny chipped in a goal and an assist. Owen Guy added two helpers as Johnathon Schaefer, Ryan Burton and Frankie Pucci each posted an assist.
