Badgers open new season in Guelph

GUELPH - Opening their 2022 campaign on the road, the Brock women's lacrosse team fell 23-2 versus the Western Mustangs and 14-2 against the Guelph Gryphons in a Sunday doubleheader.

In tough to open the season against a perennial powerhouse in Western, the Badgers were limited to just two goals. Second-year attack Kyla Maguire and fourth-year midfielder Kennedy Rawding scored the pair of markers for Brock in the season opener.

Next facing off against the host Gryphons, the veteran Rawding would score her second goal of the day, while fellow midfielder Kennedy Smith would also register a goal in the hard fought loss.

Continuing their season on the road, Brock will now travel to Waterloo on Saturday, Sept. 17 for another doubleheader facing the McMaster Marauders and Laurier Golden Hawks. Start times for the two contests are set for 10:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
