ST CATHARINES - Following a decisive victory over Laurier to open their preseason schedule on Friday, the Brock Badgers women's hockey team added a 2-1 win over the Western Mustangs at Canada Games Park on Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first period it was Juliana Parks who opened the scoring for the Badgers late in the second period.
Conceding a goal back early in the third period to the Mustangs, Brock would secure the game-winner just four minutes later from the stick of second-year forward
Sarah Nelles.
Kenzie Harmison drew the start in net for the Badgers and despite conceding the one goal delivered a strong performance turning aside 22 total shots.
Brock's preseason schedule will continue on the road next week as the Badgers travel to Toronto on Saturday, Oct. 1 to challenge the York Lions. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:15 p.m.
