WATERLOO - Beginning their preseason on the road, the Brock Badgers women's hockey team earned a 5-0 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday evening,
Following a scoreless first period, the Badgers offense came to life with two goals in the second and three goals in the third.
Five different Badgers players scored a goal started by assistant captain
Emma Irwin eight minutes into the second period.
Brooklyn Brooks added another late in the period to make it a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.
Coming back from the break Brock saw goals from
Catriona Cormier,
Sarah Nelles, and Maddie Cronkwright to round out the scoring. Nelles led the team in total points adding two assists to her stat line for three total points in the exhibition contest.
The Badgers are right back at it on Saturday, Sept. 24 welcoming the Western Mustangs to Canada Games Park, the new home for Badgers hockey right on campus at Brock University. Puck drop in the preseason game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets for the Badgers home outing can be purchased at
