KINGSTON - Traveling to Kingston for the third weekend of the OUA season, the Brock Badgers women's lacrosse team dropped both matches of a Sunday doubleheader falling 22-3 versus the host Queen's Gaels before a 19-4 loss to the Trent Excalibur.
In the opening contest of the day
Mackenzie Shigwadja steered the Badgers offence registering two goals and an assist.
Kyla McGuire rounded out the scoring for Brock with a single marker in the tough loss.
Next, facing the defending OUA champion Excalibur, Shigwadja recorded her third goal of the day, while
Jenna Toguri notched two and
Kennedy Smith a added the final goal for Brock.
The Badgers will have plenty of opportunity to end their current slide of six losses to open the 2022 season as they get set for a pair of doubleheaders this coming weekend, including action at home on Alumni Field this coming Sunday, Oct. 2. The weekend will begin in London with Brock challenging Western and Guelph, before two home games versus Laurier and McMaster on Sunday.
