WINDSOR – Competing against the Windsor Lancers for the second time in as many days, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell by a final score of 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Following a slow start to the contest coming less than 24 hours after their first meeting on Friday night, the Lancers were the first to break the deadlock with a goal at the 15 minute mark of the first period. Brock was quick to respond though as they turned up the pressure in the final five minutes, eventually seeing
Cole Thiessen score from a big rebound in the slot to even the contest 1-1 at the end of the first period.
As action continued in the second frame Brock took their first lead of the game during a strong sequence from
Adam Berg which saw the veteran streak down the left wing before cutting in front of the Windsor net to set up the Badgers in the offensive zone, after which a pass back from
Justin Brack to Berg wide open in front of the Lancers goalie secured a shorthanded marker.
Despite the third period lead, Windsor took back momentum in the final 10 minutes collapsing on Badgers goaltender
Mario Peccia enroute to two third period goals, the second coming on a late powerplay to secure the win for the home side. Peccia was strong throughout finishing the evening with 34 total saves.
Brock remains on the road next traveling to London to face the Western Mustangs where they will look to end a recent three game slide on Friday, Jan. 20. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the game streamed online via
