ST. CATHARINES - The Brock Badgers women's basketball team could not find a rhythm against the OUA Central top ranked McMaster Marauders in a blowout loss 71-49 at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.

The Badgers struggled to find the cylinder all throughout the first half, capitalizing on a mere 19 points on 23 percent from the field, while the Marauders dominated with a total of 49 points in the opening half. Despite the slow start, Brock Badgers head coach Mike Rao displayed his coaching expertise by implementing a strong 2-3 zone following the halftime break, limiting the Marauders to only 22 second half points.

Badgers shooting guard Madalyn Weinert notched her seventh straight double-digit scoring performance with 15 points, alongside six boards and a block. Meanwhile, second-year forward Olivia Fiorucci added eight points, six rebounds, and three assists for the Badgers.

McMaster's Sarah Gates showed why she is leading the OUA this season in points per game, scoring a game-high 25 points in the win for the Marauders, including an impressive 4-for-4 start from behind the three-point line in the first half.
