SUDBURY – The Brock women's basketball lost by three points to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, Jan. 28.
The Badgers fell 53-50 to the Voyageurs to split their northern road trip 1-1.
Brock is tied for second with the TMU Bold in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Central Division with a record of 9-7.
Laurentian led 38-26 at halftime before Brock outscored the home side in the third and fourth quarters. The Badgers limited the Voyageurs to just five points in the third.
Second-year forward
Olivia Fiorucci led the Badgers in scoring with 13 points, and added seven rebounds.
In 38 minutes of action, second-year guard
Madalyn Weinert secured a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Weinert and Fiorucci combined for nine assists.
Second-year point guard
Kaley DeMont poured in 11 points and first-year guard
Oluwatito Akinnusi collected 10 boards.
Laurentian outshot Brock 33.3 (18-54) per cent to 24.7 (18-73) per cent.
The Voyageurs were led by Bailey Tabin who scored 21 points.
