NORTH BAY – The Brock Badgers women's hockey team lost 2-1 to the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, Jan. 28.
The Badgers lost their first game of the weekend after a win on Friday against the TMU Bold. The Badgers outshot the Lakers 32-25 but were unable to convert on seven power-play opportunities.
The first period saw the Badgers take a 9-8 lead in shots over the Lakers and kill off two penalties, but they allowed the only goal of the period to Nipissing.
The Badgers took control during the second period, outshooting Nipissing 17-3. Nipissing took a 2-0 lead with a shorthanded goal, but the Badgers got on the board with
Catriona Cormier's second goal of the weekend and fifth of the season.
The Badgers and Lakers were scoreless in the third period, resulting in a 2-1 Badgers loss.

Kenzie Harmison denied 23 Nipissing shots in the game, while her counterpart Chloe Marshall stopped 31.
The Badgers are back in action on Friday, Feb. 3 when they visit the Western Mustangs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.. The game can be streamed online via
