Brock women’s basketball bounces back with road win

OSHAWA – Second-year guard Madalyn Weinert recorded a double-double as the Brock women's basketball team concluded its road trip with a 79-54 win over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Saturday, Jan. 7.
 
Weinert scored a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds, including three assists, for her fourth double-double of the season.
 
Fourth-year guard Noor Bazzi was efficient from the field as she shot 83.3 per cent (5-for-6) and perfect three-for-three from beyond the arc for 13 points. Second-year forward Madison MacInnis was a defensive force with a game-high three blocks and two steals. She also registered eight points.
 
The Badgers scored 28 points in the second for a 45-28 lead at halftime.
 
Brock connected on 52.9 per cent (nine-for-17) from beyond the arc and registered 20 assists distributed across 10 players.
 
For Ontario Tech, Jadeza Ismaila recorded 17 points.
 
Brock returns to action on Friday, Jan. 13 when they travel to Sault Ste. Marie to face the Algoma Thunderbirds at 6 p.m. Watch the game live on OUA.tv.
