On Thursday (Oct. 12) night, the Brock Badgers women's soccer team played the last 18 minutes of their postponed Sept. 17 contest with the Laurier Golden Hawks. Laurier held on for the 2-1 victory after neither team was able to notch a goal in the continued contest.
In the original first half, Brianna Bishop opened up the scoring in the 14th minute, putting the Badgers on the board. Brock put more pressure on the Golden Hawks firing multiple shots in the span of 30 seconds. Laurier fought back, putting one in off the foot of Mackenzie Forte to even things up. At half, the game was tied at 1-1.
Laurier scored their second of the game in the 68th minute. In the continued contest on Thursday, the Badgers had multiple chances in the offensive area but were unable to find the equalizing marker.
Bishop and Kate Halley both finished with two shots on net, while Irelan Scanlon and Cerrina Toromoreno had one each.
Up next, the Badgers (3-4-2) will play their final home game and celebrate their graduating seniors on Saturday, October 20 against the York Lions (2-4-3). Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Brock Alumni Field.
