The Brock Badgers women's lacrosse team travelled to Kingston for matches on Saturday (Oct. 28) for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Badgers fell 19-2 against the Toronto Varsity Blues and lost 18-3 in their second game against the Trent Excalibur in round robin play.
Game 1: Brock 2 Toronto 19
Third-year attack Mackenzie Shigwadja scored for Brock with Kyla McGuire picking up an assist on the goal.
Fourth-year attack Kennedy Smith also scored for the Badgers.
Game 2: Brock 3 Trent 18
Shigwadja and Smith both had 2 goals in 2 games, each scoring for Brock against the Trent Excalibur.
Sport Management major Elise Vestergaard recorded a goal in the game as well.
The Brock Badgers will see the season as one of growth, which included picking up their first win since 2021 on October 14 against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
