Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Aidan Cvetich

Badgers pick up big road win over No. 6 Bold

The Brock Badgers men's basketball team picked up a 81-68 win in their first road game of the season against the No. 6 ranked TMU Bold on Saturday, Nov. 11 in Toronto.

Junior forward Jordan Tchuente had an outstanding performance for the Badgers in this one totaling 19 points, 22 rebounds and one block.

The first quarter in this game was a story of runs.

Brock got out to a quick 7-0 lead following a huge Kevaughn Ellis breakaway dunk.

TMU came back strong and was able to take a lead of their own thanks to some physical offensive play.

Both teams traded baskets for the rest of the quarter and TMU had a 21-18 lead after 10 minutes.

In the second quarter, Brock brought the energy on both ends of the floor regaining their lead early on led by great offensive play from Tchuente.

A dazzling no-look assist in transition by freshman guard Nemanja Sarkanovic highlighted the second frame as Brock went into halftime holding a 34-31 lead.

In the third quarter, the Badgers kept the energy very high, forcing TMU turnovers and staying consistent on offence.

A dominant start to the second half had the Badgers leading 62-48 headed into the fourth.

Brock did not let the Bold generate any momentum in the final quarter as they continued to play suffocating defence while closing out the win.

This result is a huge early-season win against the No. 6 ranked team in the country for a Brock team who is trying to crack the Top 10 rankings themselves.

Multiple Badgers had strong games in this one with Michael Matas posting 17 points, Kevaughn Ellis scoring 13 and Jevon Brown also contributing 13.

Next up, the Badgers will travel to Ottawa for another matchup against a nationally ranked team when they face off against the No. 4 Carleton Ravens on Friday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. You can watch the game on OUA.tv.
