In a high-scoring clash on Saturday, Nov. 4, the Brock Badgers outlasted the Ontario Tech men's hockey team 7-3 in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) action at Canada Games Park.
Forward
Jacob Roach collected his first hat trick of the season, and added an assist, as the Badgers increased their record to 9-1.
Justin Brack and
Zachary Taylor each scored a goal and tallied two assists.
Jonah Boria and
Tyler Burnie each added a goal.
Brock took an early lead, capitalizing on a power play, with Burnie scoring the opening goal. Roach continued to shine on the power play, extending Brock's lead to 2-0 with the help of Taylor and Brack. Taylor added another goal for Brock to make it 3-0.
Ontario Tech fought back, with Cullen McLean finding the net reducing the deficit to 3-1. Andrew Suriyuth added another goal for Ontario Tech, making it 3-2 by the end of the first period.
The second period saw James White leveling the score at 3-3 for Ontario Tech. However, Brock regained the lead with Roach's second goal, and they extended it further on a power play, with Roach completing his hat-trick.
In the final period, Brock continued to dominate, with goals from Brack and Boria, securing their 7-3 victory. The game was characterized by numerous penalties, with both teams serving time in the penalty box.
