Game Recap: Men's Hockey | | Evan Curnew

Men's hockey concludes weekend in Ottawa

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the No. 4 nationally ranked Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell 3-1 to the Carleton Ravens in Ottawa.

Brock's lone goal came from Justin Brack's fourth of the season. Connor Ungar made 37 saves on the night, earning a .925 save percentage.

The Badgers opened the scoring through Brack as the fifth-year centre cleaned up a loose puck in front of goal on the power play. Jacob Roach picked up his 15th assist of the season on the goal, ranking him among the best in the province in that category. Third-year defenceman Zachary Taylor also recorded an assist on Brack's goal. Carleton responded with a goal of their own shortly after.

The Ravens took the lead midway through the second period. Brock was able to successfully kill off two penalties in the middle frame to keep themselves in the game.

With roughly seven minutes left in the third period, Carleton increased their lead to two through Will Collins. The Badgers put the pressure on late with Ungar pulled for the extra attacker but were unable to find the back of the net.

Up next, the Brock Badgers (14-4-0) are off until 2024 when they visit the TMU Bold (11-5-0) on Thursday, Jan. 4 in Toronto. You can follow along on OUA.tv.
