Men's basketball drop back-to-back games on the road

LONDON - Approaching the final stretch of the regular season, the No. 4 nationally ranked Brock Badgers men's basketball team fell 95-91 on the road versus the Western Mustangs in London on Saturday night.

The loss marks the second consecutive road loss for the Badgers, falling to the Windsor Lancers the night prior. Brock's record now shifts to 15-5 placing them into a three-way tie for fourth place in the OUA alongside the Lancers, Lakehead Thunderwolves, and Nipissing Lakers. The top 12 teams qualify for the OUA postseason, with the top four receiving a first round bye.

On the court on Saturday night, Western nearly led from start-to-finish utilizing a strong interior offence to produce 32 points in the paint, and garner 19 free throw attempts. The Badgers were competitive throughout, shooting over 43 percent from the field, while knocking down 14 three-point field goals, however they were unable to close the gap.

Veteran guard Daniel Caldwell led the Badgers offence with a team-high 23 points, including four made three-pointers. He also added seven rebounds and seven assists to flirt with a potential triple-double on the night. Four more Badgers in Jevon Brown, Godsman Kwakwah, Kascius Small-Martin, and Jordan Tchuente also reached double-digit points in the loss, with Tchuente pulling down a team-high nine rebounds and Small-Martin notching a team-high nine assists as well.

On the other side, Aryan Sharma and Jerric Palma each nailed four three-pointers in the victory, finishing with 25 and 24 points, respectively.
