TORONTO - The No. 6 nationally ranked Brock Badgers men's basketball team lost 74-63 in their final regular season contest versus the TMU Bold in Toronto on Saturday night.
The Badgers were an interior force in last night's contest, outscoring the Bold on points in the paint 34-16. However, just one night later the Bold responded by getting red hot from behind the arc shooting 12-for-30 on three-point field goals, in comparison to a season low 4-for-27 from the Badgers. TMU also benefited from 25 trips to the charity stripe, in stark contrast to just 12 free throws, and only five made for Brock.
Despite the result, head coach
Willy Manigat once again showcased the Badgers depth with nine players recording at least two points. Starters
Isaiah Bujdoso and
Jordan Tchuente led the way with 11 points apiece. Tchuente also snagged a game-high 9 rebounds on the night. Veterans
Jesse Barnes and
Kascius Small-Martin added eight points in the teams effort.
Aaron Rhooms and David Walker showcased their two-way talent with a combined 48 points and nine steals as a duo for the Bold.
The Badgers will finish atop the OUA Central division with a 16-6 record, receiving a first round OUA playoffs bye to the quarter-final round as a divisional winner. Brock will host an OUA quarter-final showdown on Saturday, Feb. 25 with an opponent and time to be confirmed. Once available, tickets can be purchased on
University Tickets, while all the action will also be streamed on
