The Brock Badgers men's hockey team kicked off the 2023-24 season with an exhibition game against the Ohio University Bobcats of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) at Canada Games Park on Friday, Sept. 15.

Ohio emerged victorious 3-2.

The first period saw both teams coming out strong, with each netting a goal. Ohio opened the scoring on a power play, with Laher Aldridge finding the back of the net at 7:08, assisted by Hollander Thompson.

Brock quickly responded at 11:33 with
Jacob Roach scoring an unassisted goal, leveling the playing field.

The intensity continued into the second period. The Bobcats took the lead early on when Luc Reeve scored just 59 seconds into the period, with assists from Hollander Thompson and Aldridge.

However, Brock answered back at 3:27 when
Ryan Stepien found the net.
Justin Kyle and
AJ Cook each added an assist.

Ohio University regained the lead late in the period with Aldridge notching his second goal of the night at 18:48. Blake Farrell and Drake Albers each contributed a helper.

Up next, the Badgers host the Bobcats for one last pre-season contest on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Canada Games Park. Puck drop is noon.
