The Brock women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season by a score of 5-2 to the Laurier Golden Hawks at Brock Alumni Field in St. Catharines on Saturday, Sept. 16.<br />  <br /> Brock's second-year striker, Jenna Parris, opened the scoring at 5:30 with an assist from Irelan Scanlon to give the Badgers an early lead before Laurier responded with a goal from Jyanessa Sealy to tie the match before half.<br />  <br /> As the second half began, Laurier shifted into high gear. Sophia Messina scored at 51:52, followed by Sealy's second goal at 72:39, extending Laurier's lead to 3-1. Mackenzie Forte added to Laurier's tally at 77:25, with an assist from Noella Grant, putting the score at 4-1 in favor of Laurier.<br />  <br /> Brock wasn't ready to give up just yet and Makenna Williamson managed to score at 89:01 for her first marker of the season.
