The Brock Badgers women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday (Sept. 23) at home.
The Gryphons got on the board first as Olivia Brown scored in the 14th minute.
The Badgers put pressure on early in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer. Guelph doubled its lead as Sydney Vanderhoef scored on a penalty kick in the 69th minute.
Juniors Brianna Bishop and Sabrina Bisante registered a team-high two shots on net. Four other Badgers (Juliana Andolina, Shannon Brown, Irelan Scanlon, Cerrina Toromoreno finished with a shot on net.
First year and Guelph, Ont., product Shaelyn Mitchell made her fifth start in goal for the Badgers and finished with five saves.
Up next, the Badgers (0-3-2) will look to rebound with a win against the Windsor Lancers (3-1-2) on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 1:00 p.m.
