The Brock Badgers women's lacrosse team played their only home games of the season on Sunday afternoon, falling 13-9 to the McMaster Marauders before suffering a 12-6 defeat to the Laurier Golden Hawks.
Kennedy Smith and Kyla McGuire led the way for Brock against the Marauders, each scoring a hat-trick. McGuire also added an assist in the contest. Lucy Lee, Mackenzie Shigwadja and Alyssa Worth contributed to the Badgers cause with a goal a piece. Shigwadja led the team with three assists, while Ryanne Logan and Abbey Penner each dished out a helper.Â
In the second match of the day, Shigwadja led the Badgers with two goals and an assist. The local St. Catharines product finished with a total of three goals and four assists on the day. Penner, Smith, Elise Vestergaard and Rachel Woods each added a goal, while Lee finished the match with one assist.
Brock will be searching for their first win of the year as they head to London to face off against the Guelph Gryphons and McMaster Marauders on Saturday, Sept. 30. Game times are set for 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.Â
