The Badgers completed the weekend sweep over the Lakers.Â
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team defeated the Nipissing Lakers 3-2 in overtime at Canada Games Park.Â
Third-year forward Holden Rogers found the scoresheet again, this time netting the overtime winner. Â
Zander Stewart and Zack Stringer were the Badgers' other goal-scorers in the victory. Â
After killing off a four-minute penalty early in the opening frame, Brock scored its first goal from Stringer who directed the puck past the Nipissing goaltender in the dying seconds of the period. Â
Late in the second period after the Lakers had tied the game, Matt Duarte found Stewart in front of the goal who comfortably slotted the puck home to put the Badgers up 2-1. Â
Nipissing added a late third-period goal to send the contest to overtime.
In 3-on-3 action, it was Rogers who responded with a goal for the Badgers, securing the victory against the Lakers.Â
In his second start in as many days, Samuel Vyletelka made 28 saves in the win. Â
The Badgers piled on the shots against the Lakers, recording 38 to the visitors' 30 shots. Â
