For the third consecutive year, the Brock Badgers women's rugby team took on the Guelph Gryphons in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) semifinals.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Badgers dropped a 71-10 decision to the Gryphons in Guelph.
Two Badgers ended with five points as Abbie Wade scored Brock's lone try while Paige DeNeve notched one convert and one penalty kick.
To start the game, the Gryphons stormed out to a 40-0 advantage.
Wade scored a try for Brock to make the score 40-7 which was as close as the Badgers got.
Guelph outscored Brock 24-5 in the second half to book their spot in the OUA final and the U SPORTS Championship.
The loss marks the third consecutive time the Badgers fell to the Gryphons in the OUA semifinal round.
It is the end of the road for the Badgers who finished with a 4-2 conference record during the regular season and were nationally ranked five times, with their highest finish being No. 6.
