The Brock Badgers men's hockey team suffered defeat on the road in Guelph.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Badgers faced off against the Guelph Gryphons at Gryphon Centre Arena where they fell 2-1.
Holden Rogers scored the Badgers' lone goal with his team leading sixth goal of the campaign, while Riley Gannon picked up the assist.
Brock came out strong as they had many opportunities to find the back of the net throughout the game but was stopped by stellar goaltending from Guelph's Cal Schell.
The Badgers stepped up big defensively in the third period, killing two 5-on-3 penalties and four in the period to keep the game tied at one apiece.
In the dying seconds of the third period, Gryphons forward Nolan Dann stunned the Badgers as he scored the game winner.
Second-year goalie Will Hambley got the nod between the pipes as he made 27 saves on 29 shots and allowed 2 goals.
Brock led the shot department in every period and finished the game with 38 shots to Guelph's 29.
Next, the Badgers travel to Trois-Rivières, QC to take on the UQTR Patriotes at the Colisée de Trois- Rivières Jean-Guy Talbot on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. The Badgers last played the Patriotes on Jan. 13, 2024 where they earned a 3-2 shootout victory win.
