Brock suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss in Waterloo.
Despite multiple chances to end the game, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team fell to the Laurier Golden Hawks 3-2 in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Holden Rogers and Ethan Sims were the Badgers' goal scorers in the contest.Â
Goaltender Samuel Vyletelka made 26 saves in his first career Ontario University Athletics (OUA) game.
The Badgers had to crawl back from a 2-0 deficit after one period of play.
Sims scored the Badgers' first goal from the top of the faceoff circle with a quick shot in the second period.
Midway through the third period, Rogers scored the game-tying goal off a pass from Ryan Thompson.
In overtime, Evan Benwell scored for the Golden Hawks as they took home the win.
Jonah Boria, Jacob Hoffrogge and Ryan Stepien also notched assists in the game.
The Badgers finished with 50 shots total;Â 24 of which were in the third period as they pushed for the victory.
